We’re nearing the end of autumn and I’ve
yet to post edible shades of orange on here. You should know that I purchased a mini
pumpkin today. I am probably going to place it on my windowsill and stare at it
for a week or so, occasionally wondering whether it’s worth sacrificing the
plump beauty of a good old pumpkin.

The October Great Pink Bake Off by Breakthrough Breast Cancer and a Duffin Recipe!
I wana get straight in with the facts here.
1000 women die of breast cancer every month, that’s just in the UK. 50,000 of
us are affected by it. again, that’s just in the UK - I don’t even want to imagine
what those figures are like for the rest of you. Also, that’s just breast cancer;
there are more than 200 other types of cancer typically affecting A LOT of us
out there. Crikey. Out of all of the diseases out there, I think cancer is that
one lingering asshole.

Maple Black and White Cookies
If I had to choose between a mango fresh from
the Caribbean and an authentic dessert from somewhere around the world, I’d have to go
with the latter.

Caramel Fudge Brownies With Sea Salt Chocolate
This week marks the return of actually
having to do stuff. Tomorrow I have to catch the over ground to London Bridge
(30 mins), and then I have to walk to the Northern line, have a minor panic
attack whilst walking down steep escalators (2 mins), courteously join the
human traffic taking place in a very tight, moving space and then attempt to
get out at Kings Cross St Pancreas (20 mins).
Walk (escalate) to the thankfully deserted and somewhat eery Piccadilly
line, sit on that for another 15 minutes and arrive at Holloway Road. I am
expected to repeat this process into university for the next year. Danny Dorling wrote in 'So You Think You Know Britain?' that Londoners endure the longest commutes.
